WhentheAISLayerisenabledinthechartorradarapplication,AIS
targetsareshownonyourdisplay.YoucanaddanyAIStargetto
a“BuddyList”,eachentryconsistingofanMMSInumber,andan
optionalname.Subsequently,wheneverBuddyTrackingisenabled
onyourmutlifunctiondisplay,anda“Buddy”vesselwithanMMSI
numbersailsintotherangeofyourAISreceiver,anAISBuddyicon
isdisplayed.Upto100vesselsmaybeaddedtotheBuddyList.
Pre-requisites
ThefollowingitemsarerequiredfortheBuddyTrackingfeature:
•ForthepurposesofusingtheBuddyTrackingfeature,itis
assumedthatyourdisplayisalreadyconnectedtoasuitable
AISreceiver.
•OnlyAIS-equippedvesselswillbedetected.
Enablinganddisablingbuddytracking
Inthechartorradarapplication,withtheAIST argetslayerenabled:
1.PresstheMENUbutton.
2.SelectAISLayerSetup.
3.UsetheBuddyTrackingmenuitemtoselecttheONorOFF
option,asappropriate.
Addingavesseltoyourbuddylist
Inthechartorradarapplication:
1.Usingthetrackpad,movethecursoroveranAIStarget.
ThesoftkeyschangetoreectthisandgiveyouBuddy-related
options.
2.PresstheADDTOBUDDYLISTsoftkey.
TheMMSIandvesselnameareautomaticallyaddedtotheBuddy
List.
AddingavesseltoyourbuddylistfromAIS
targetlist
1.Ifyouareinthechartapplication,presstheAISOPTIONS
softkey.
2.Ifyouareintheradarapplication,presstheTARGET
TRACKINGsoftkey.
3.PresstheAISLISTsoftkey.
TheAIST argetListisdisplayed.
4.Usingthetrackpad,selecttheAIStargetthatyouwanttoadd
toyourBuddyList.
5.PresstheADDTOBUDDYLISTsoftkey.
6.PresstheOKbutton.
