4.7 What additional information can my chart show?
In addition to the chart itself, the chart card includes:
• Details of each cartographic object that is marked on the chart, including source
data for structures, lines, open sea areas etc.
• Port services, tidal and current information.
• Details of the waypoints, port services, ports, tidal stations, current stations, wrecks
or obstructions that are closest to the cursor position.
Set up options allow you to change how selection of object information operates -
see
page 4-42
Displaying details of objects and features
To view these details:
1. Move the cursor over the required cartographic object. Basic information relating
to that object is displayed e.g.
2. If you require more detailed information, press OK. The Object Info box is re-dis-
played giving further details relating to the selected object.
3. In the left-hand box, highlight the required subject area for the object you have
selected. Details are displayed in the right-hand box. To scroll through detailed
information, use the trackpad to move control to the right-hand box.
The soft keys provide controls to:
• Locate the nearest waypoint, port, port service, tidal and current stations, wreck or
obstruction, to the selected position.
• Search for a named port.
• View detailed data for the selected port, tidal station or current station.
