toasinglelocalpoint(e.g.withinaswitchpanel),withthispoint
connectedviaasingle,appropriately-ratedconductor,tothe
vessel’scommonRFgroundpoint.
Implementation
Thepreferredminimumrequirementforthepathtogroundisvia
aattinnedcopperbraid,witha30Arating(1/4inch)orgreater.
Ifthisisnotpossible,anequivalentstrandedwireconductor
maybeused,ratedasfollows:

Thereare3levelsofpowerprotectionintheautopilotsystem.
Themotorandassociatedcablesareinitiallyprotectedbythe
currentsensingandstallconditiondetectionwithintheACU
hardwareandsoftware.Asecondlevelofprotectionisprovided
tothesepartsandtheACUcomponentsbytheunit'smain
powerfuse.Protectionfortheentireautopilotsystemandits
wiringbacktothemainpowerdistributionpanelisprovidedby
yourvessel’scircuitbreaker/fuse.
Powersupplycircuitprotection
ProtectthepowersupplyfortheEvolutionsystematthe
distributionboardwithafuseorcircuitbreakerthatissuitablefor
theACU.Forguidance,refertomainpowerfuseratingstatedon
theACUconnectorpanel.Ifindoubt,consultyourlocaldealer.
